Remembering Krys
|
I'm sad to say I never got to know Krys as well as I would have liked to. She taught me many important things which have brought me far in life. I can say without a doubt, I would not be where I am today without her. She taught me respect and honor in a scene full of less than ethical people. She taught me to go out and figure out things for myself instead of relying on others. There are two events involving krys I will never forget. Having been her kicktoy since the first time I joined #dc-stuff, it meant a lot to me the first time she not only didn't kick me, but opped me instead. To most people this would seem like silly IRC stuff, but to me, it was a small sign of her approval, and it meant a tremoundous amount to me. The second event, sadly, was her death. As happens often in life, I never realized how much she meant to me, or how much she was right about everything, until she was gone. It set a milestone for me as I was so emotionally moved by the news that I broke into tears at work at my realization of how much she meant, not only to me, but to everyone she came in contact with. The biggest honor of my life was when some of my poetry though not directly about krys, was featured in her memorial issue of FUCK poetry. WE MISS YOU KRYS!
